tacticalhoneybadger: potatoz234: thumbcramps: hi guys! this is a comic i made for a final in my comics in literature class. we had to do a research paper on a topic we’d discussed in class and then accompany it with a comic with a relevant subject. my paper was about hyper-sexualization of women in comic books, but i decided to broaden it out here as well as personalize it and make myself the subject and discuss something i’ve been subjected to in the convention circuit and on the internet as well as thousands of other women, as well as give a cue to thought about how the comic book industry as well as the video game industry and even just media in general (all of which are male dominated) push such ridiculous pressures onto girls and women. also, it feels kind of silly to have to add this since i hope it’s obvious, but i am very aware that there are men that don’t subscribe to this attitude, and am incredibly grateful that these issues are brought to light to people other than the ones that are subjected to it.  anyway haha i have literally been staring at this for 9 hours i don’t even know which direction is up anymore. thanks for reading!!! Studying gender inequality in comics is fucking fascinating. It really is. You need to focus on how comics got to be that way. Well, they started as empowerment fantasies. They were for the underdog, giving them dreams of saving everyone and being the hero who most certainly not die. They were evolutions of old radio dramas in a new skin (For example, The Shadow was a noire Batman with guns). These got pushed underground by staggering legislation and, I hate to say it, but something I call “Soccer Mom Outcry”. Comics got pushed underground. So in order to stay afloat, what did these books do? The catered to the lowest common denominator. Soon, it was Z-sized Wonder Woman fights dark and edgy villains for cdsvfbnhgjkuyf it all got very stupid very fast. On both sides. Honestly, look at any male superhero and tell me he also isn’t a stereotype as well. Hopefully with the rising popularity of comics they have enough money to go back to the Golden Age, but I doubt it. Old habits die hard. The comic was more of less about how comic nerds generally treat women at cons as attention seeking sluts instead of, y’know, people. Looks good to me.

Finger limes are a micro-citrus originally discovered growing wild in Australia.  The interior pulp can best be described as citrus pearls, or citrus caviar.  The citrus pearls can be squeezed out of the finger lime and used in any place that you would use a lemon or lime.  The flavor is similar to that of a lemon-lime-grapefruit combo, the juice bursts from the citrus pearls when bitten into. Why does this sound so fucking dirty?
